$10 Fridays! Try a New Hem for Under Ten

I so did not mean for that rhyme, but it appears I'm a poetry genius.  Many of you love the maxi skirt, it means you don't have to shave your legs, your BF thinks you look like a hippie, and if you do it wrong, you've lost your shape.  Keep it easy and simple and throw on a cute mini that helps create the perfect hour glass shape with the cinching waistband.  These skirts are all fun and colorful and easy to move from summer to fall with tights and boots and a knit sweater.  So ok, you won't have to shave your legs completely if you wear tights (so lazy!).  These skirts by the way, are all under $10.  I don't think there's a better deal out there for a new trend to try.  Buy them here at Forever 21.

Rain Rain Go Away....Well Not As Long As I'm Wearing These

Something about Fall in Atlanta usually means rain.  I'll have to admit, it's better than any snow that you northerners may get.  Our weather usually consists of beautiful sunshine or an absolute downpour.  I've been saying for about 5 years now that I need rainboots.  I finally got myself a pair (the Steve Madden ones below in green) and am actually looking forward to the next rainy day.  Going to school in downtown with the rain usually mean soaked jeans and socks... no more!  I'll be nice and dry in these new puppies.  Check out some of my favorite rain boot picks below.

Outfit Du Jour

It's in between hot and cool, autumn and summer and I just want to not sweat my ass off today.  So today I went with a great little dress.  Fun fall accessories like my suede Seychelles and a cardigan.  Off to work or play in this get up.  You can remix this outfit easily by adding boots and tights and a heavier cardigan to keep warm.  A simple dress is so versatile in everyone's closet.  It's my go to!

Damn You Kardashian Sisters! Obsessed!

Hello, my name is Jessica, and I'm addicted to the Kardashians.  I know you are too, you all are.  Which sister is your favorite?  Mine used to be Kim's, but when it comes to fashion, Kourtney has them beat.  I guess with age comes fashion wisdom.  Her style is put together, chic, feminine and oh so effortless.  It's also really attainable.  Her pieces are easy to replicate with pretty blouses, a nice pair of shorts, a great blazer and some cat eye sunglasses and voila!  Kourtney Fashion!  I love these below looks (especially the fall one including boots and amazing coat!).  So which sister do you try to replicate?!  Don't lie... I know you do it too!

Outfit Du Jour

So it may be almost 4 o'clock and I'm finally out of work out clothes to head to a lingerie shower for an old co worker of mine.  An afternoon party is one of my favorite kinds because it gives you a great reason to drink before 5, and an even better reason to take a nap late afternoon before going out again.  Basically a win win if you ask me.  Here's to the bachelorette!  Congrats and I hope you like your damn present!!!

$10 Fridays! Bold Colorful Rings

Adding a bit of zing to any outfit is easy to do with a fun colorful ring.  Use your accessories to play with color combinations you may not usually lean towards.  I especially love the purple and emerald ones for Fall, and you can never go wrong with a blush colored anything.  And to make it all that much better, these are only $8.00 available here!  And if the ring makes your finger turn green (it is $8.00 after all what do you expect?) paint the inside with clear nail polish to prevent that from happening to your fingers.

Friday Night! Girls Night Out?

This look reminds me of my visit to NYC.  It is wear I fell in love with red lipstick, kudos to you MAC counter employee.  I may have created this outfit starting with the lipstick and figuring out what goes with it, but who's here to judge right?  I like to keep everything else a little more simple so the bold color can really stand out and be the statement.  A simple black tee with a leopard print mini is always a favorite.  The pop of turquoise is perfect to break up all the black in the outfit.  A black platform maryjane makes this private school classic all grown up.  I'm ready to hit the town with my girls!

Can You Believe It's Almost SPRING?!

I learned something very interesting last week while talking with a clothing website owner.... they just did their Spring 2012 buy.... Which means, on all those websites you like to browse on, the stores you love to shop in, they already know what's in for SPRING.  No not Winter, not Resort... SPRING.   Spring 2012 Fashion Week started today as well so all the designers will be exhibiting their new styles.  It's pretty crazy when you think about it.  And it's pretty exhilarating when you can get a sneak peak of what's going to be trending almost a year from now.

I'm in my early 20's, which means I love Lauren Conrad, The Hills, Kristin Cavallari.... It's a right of passage to sit at home and watch The Hills marathon.  Anyway, Lauren Conrad recently started her own clothing line (very expensive) and it's quite gorgeous.  I just saw the sneak peak of her pre Spring line.  And it looks like maxi's aren't going anywhere.  The pleated skirts at a tea length are becoming the new must have as well.  I'm absolutely loving her Spring 2012 collection and can't wait to see it go on sale so I can buy it!

Don't Store Your White Jeans Just Yet!

A friend of mine is obsessed with her straight leg white J Crew denim pants that she lives in.  The first thing she said this weekend was "I can't believe I can't wear my white jeans after this weekend, I'm so sad".  Well cry no more because I've got several ideas for those favorite white jeans of yours even though it's officially after labor day.   You won't be a fash-hole for wearing them after the holiday as long as you do it right.  Follow these simple rules and you'll be sure to look great into the Fall.

1.  Color - Add fall colors to your look to break up the white palette.  Use burgundy, navy, hunter green and shades of browns to blend the white jeans with your fall colors.

2.  Pattern - Don't wear a baby blue seersucker shirt with your white jeans in September, it just won't work.  Think of more cooler weather patterns like the typical school girl plaid, herringbone or the new pattern of the moment, chevron.  This will help make the white jeans look more appropriate for the season.

3. Texture - Whether it's an accessory or top, texture is also very important for transitioning your white denim through the seasons.  Steer clear of linen, super thin cotton and canvas anything.  Use thicker fabrics such as wool blends, leathers and even faux fur.  Your best friend this season will definitely be a great vest in a faux fur or a chunky knit.  This would be a great layering piece to help break up lighter summery fabrics.

My New Shoe Obsession

It's a good thing these are expensive because I'd have them in all 3 colors.  I recently saw these MyMu shoes at this new online store that I'm obsessed with.  Can't afford anything, but love to look at their items and their blog.  These shoes just scream wear me!!  I'm hoping they go on sale and that I stumble across two Benjamin's laying around on the floor and then maybe, just maybe I'll give in and buy them.

Fall Outfit On A Budget

Happy Labor Day everyone!  Put away the white linen pants and start your Fall wardrobe!!

I just saw a magazine for Halloween today in the grocery store and I almost had a heart-attack.  First of all, I was wearing a tank top, shorts and flip flops.  Something about this outfit makes me believe it's still Summer.  But apparently the fashion God's, the Magazine God's, and the lady in front of me who apparently is very cold blooded, says it's time for fall clothing.  I'm officially on a serious budget and am trying to keep my spending in check, which benefits you because I will now only be searching for inexpensive fashionable stylish items for your wardrobe.  Win, Win.  Below are some of my favorite trends for fall in a perfect outfit.  Everything is well under $50, even the silly little mannequin in the corner that is only there for decoration (cute isn't it?).  This will definitely make your wallet smile :)
