I recently came across Made By Girl's blog and fell in love with her cheery prints and inspiring words. She launched Cocoa & Hearts for her real deal paintings soon after and the success was inevitable.
The colors are bright and feminine. I love how she styled them with her favorite books and tchotchkes. Her paintings are simply gorgeous. One day, when I have a real office and not a 4 by 4 cubicle, I would love to have one of these pretty things hanging on my wall.
I noticed when I was editing my photos last night, that I may have sneaked in a little gun show here. Say hello to my little friend *in Al Pacino voice* Crossfit has become my newest obsession. Quite possibly so obsessed that I forget to shop these days. Luckily, Savannah Rae shipped me this adorable printed maxi dress so that I don't have to get my butt to a mall anytime soon.
Savannah Rae is a great local designer here in Atlanta. Her designs are Southern with a touch of big city sass. As a New York girl at heart who's been living in the South for far too long, I realize I may have found my new favorite designer. Check out her site here, and become her FB friend here (because who doesn't want to FB friends with a cool designer?).
What are you recently obsessed with besides pools and margaritas?
I don't really share a lot of my personal or work life on my blog. Partially I do this to prevent the crazy stalkers... You aren't one are you? Ok good.
But, recently I had an opportunity to write my first blog post for my company. With a dream to one day work in PR, this was a small but important step in my career. I thought I'd share the quick post with you all. Head over to the Alternative Apparel blog for all the Summer Must-Haves.
We easily forget what this holiday is truly about and end up doing way too much drinking and tanning for our own good. Let's take a moment to remember the heroic men and women who have served our country.
I used to want to own my own boutique, but turns out that requires a ton of money and too much time. So I'll just continue to dream about it. But, if I ever do one day become a boutique owner or online retailer, there is one online shop I'll be sure to take some hints from. Their photos are perfection and they make you want to wear their items. Isn't that the whole point?! Sabo Skirt does it well, unfortunately they are located in Australia, but hopefully one day they'll open a store in the US so we can shop shop shop! Because frankly, international shipping on a $50 dress just isn't my thing.
There are two thought processes when it comes to buying a hand bag. One, spend your money on a great quality bag and you'll have it for life. Or, buy a cheap bag you love because it's trendy and fun and you don't care if it gets ruined. As a firm believer of quality bags, my wallet still says go cheap sometimes. It's fun and allows you to have a variety of fun colorful bags. Here are some of my favorite picks for inexpensive "fillers" to your current handbag collection.
Something about splattered paint, tie dye and fanny packs just bring me back to my childhood. When I saw this shirt I simply had to have it to reminisce with watercolors and Saved By The Bell reruns. Now don't be surprised if I show up one day in an outfit du jour wearing a fanny pack. Wait no, if you see me on here in a fanny pack you know I've completely lost my mind. It's possible that I have likely been posessed by my 6 year old self heading to Disney World with her neon pink fanny pack strapped and ready to rumble.
I digress, there are some good things that came out of the 90's like Britney Spears and Surge soda....
Sometimes going with black and white makes more sense than trying to coordinate an outfit. But it also can look super chic without even trying. Effortless combinations are always a favorite. Sort of like peanut butter and jelly. Best friends until the end.
It's getting to be an exciting time in Atlanta as a fashion blogger. Slowly the community is growing and I couldn't be more excited to be a part of it. Over the weekend I attended an event with fellow stylish bloggers and just had to snap a few outfit photos (would you expect anything less?).
Disregard the gigantic zit on my forehead, turns out all this sweating at crossfit has got my skin acting out violently.
On another note, these shoes are becoming my absolute favorite. I think maybe because they remind me of velcro shoes for a 3 year old. No fuss shoes. I like it.
