This Is What No Sleep Looks Like

I had one of the roughest days last week, 21 hour day, followed by about 5 hours of sleep, tops!  Had to wake up the next morning to attend a little fashion event (I HAD to go ok?). And I also HAD to buy this skirt.  Anyway, turns out with enough makeup, my go to Free People dress and obviously my repeat offender shoes, you can look somewhat pulled together.  

And a big thank you to my sister for taking two photos that turned out pretty okay.  I approve.

Man-Ic Mondays - Ian Velardi

Recently acknowledged as the "Best New Designer In America" by GQ, this All-American designer has the perfect mix of tailoring and streetstyle edge down pat. Ian Velardi's Fall 2012 collection is full of cool blues and the classic American plaid prints.  This is definitely one to look out for.  With true Italian tailoring, edgier styling and All-American prints, you'll be sure to see this name pop up often.  Consider yourself warned.

I am not one of those people that walk around with a smile on their face. You know, Giada De Laurentiis who's ALWAYS smiling even while she's cutting onions?! I'm just not that person, can't figure out why, my face just looks the way it looks okay? But there are some things that for sure make me smile and I know they will make you too.

A Quick Snapshot

Had a fun filled day with family on Sunday. Cousin's baby shower, shopping with my Mom and Sister, and then dinner with the whole family.  Nothing beats a day with the family.

I'm also thoroughly enjoying this wind blown hair look in photo 2.  Well done iPhone, well done.

Just to prove to you that the Nordstrom Anniversary sale is the best thing since sliced bread (if not better since I no longer eat bread) this top was from last years sale and it's been worn over and over and over again. It's classic, pretty and feminine.  I don't plan on throwing this in my donate pile in the corner of my room any time soon.

Blushy pinks and turquoise is becoming a favorite color combination.  They compliment each other so well sort of like how these shoes compliment my ass so nicely.  Yes, I just complimented myself, thank you very much, self.

Floppy Hat

Something about a big floppy hat makes me so happy inside.  Maybe it's the idea that I should probably be on a fancy white sand beach wearing it, but instead I'm at a damn goat farm with chickens running around in the middle of downtown Atlanta. Totally normal right? 

And if you haven't noticed, this sweater and my express shorts are my favorite combination.  When you have them in every color it allows you to not repeat the same EXACT look.  But none the less, see this pretty much exact look here, here and of course here again.

There's always a high and a low to your day.  Today's high was finding this sweet new spot for photos and an awesome little mexican joint 5 minutes from my office.  The low of the day..... hmmm can't think of one.  I guess that's a good problem to have.  

And if you haven't noticed, I officially live in these shoes. I eat sleep and breath these shoes. Seriously. I wore them to bed last night to make sure I wore them in today's outfit du jour.  Call me crazy, or call me a dedicated fashionista.  I'm going with crazy....

Proper Peplum

Although my shorts may be "booty short" length, I still feel quite proper and feminine in this peplum top from Zara.  It's become the perfect canvas for any look and I'm feeling like I need more statement necklaces to layer over it.  Just another reason to shop more right? Pop of Neon and Some Wise Words

One of my all time favorite color combinations is navy and pink. I picked up these cute Steve Madden neon pink sandals over the weekend (like I needed another pair of shoes right? right).  But hey, shoes are a girls best friends, along with diamonds, chocolate and massages. Wouldn't you agree?

Green With Envy

I've noticed something, this is my favorite shirt. BIG TIME.  Love it.  

On another note, say hello to my new short do.  I didn't realize how short we were actually going, I blame the sugar meltdown I was having during the consult.  It was like watching a 5 year old throw a temper-tantrum, sad moment but true story.

Stripes and Polka Dots

I've said it a million times, don't be scared of mixing prints! Here's a great example of how staying in the same color palette works perfectly.  I love this little skirt. It's fun and super short which makes it extra dangerous with gusty winds. I should know, I recently flashed a coworker on our way to Starbucks thanks to pleats and a windy day.  Whoops!

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Must Haves

It's that time of year again, no not Christmas, but pretty damn close. The Everyday Southernista's Beauty Picks

I recently stumbled onto a great local blogger and HAD to have her give me the low down on all things beauty for Summer.  She kindly agreed to doing a guest post on the beauty essentials for Summer.

Since I don't really wear a lot of makeup (if you see me wearing sunglasses in a photo it's because I completely disregarded the makeup routine that day) and thought I'd enlist the help of an expert (self proclaimed but she seems to be pretty legit!).  Check out her beauty must have's below and be sure to head on over to her blog HERE and start following her.

First up, Self Tanner.  I just think a great tan during the summer months instantly freshens up your look, my girlfriends and I always say, tan fat looks better than white fat, is that an ecard yet? :)

Next, a great CORAL cream blush! I have recently fallen in love with cream blush, it creates a natural look that lasts all day, which is especially important during the summer heat!  To complete the look, a great coral lip. Check out some of my faves, Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Coral Reef or Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Runaway.

My concealer during the summer MUST be lightweight to prevent that make up melting sensation, which is why I adore Maybelline's Instant Age Rewind but if you're looking to splurge, check out the ALL TIME fave YSL Touche Eclat.

And finally, to finish off a great summer look, BEACH WAVES.  I recently picked up this Conair 1 inch Curling iron but am LUSTING over the new Beachwaver by Sarah Potempa. It makes creating the perfect beachy wave a breeze, not to mention everyone is raving over it!

Breakfast with the Mona Lisa

Something my sister and I ritually do as often as possible, is head to Brunch on the weekends. Ideally, we prefer to eat breakfast on a Tuesday when no ones around, but thanks to a so called day job I have (she has crazy strange hours, I do not unfortunately) we have to be normal and have breakfast at 11 on a Sunday.  Luckily, we got to dine across from the Mona Lisa. So honored right?

No really, we ate at this awesome little hole in the wall in the hood called Ria's. The food was incredible, atmosphere unique, and let's just say, I have absolutely nothing against peach pancakes with a creme en glace.
