With the crazy changing temps here in Atlanta, last weekend was 72 degrees, it's tough to dress properly without looking like you've just stepped off of the plane heading to the Bahamas (although that wouldn't suck). But none the less, if it's January and it's warm, you still have to layer appropriately for the season. Here are a few of my no fail tips on how to add on layers without adding on the bulk for those finicky weather days.
- Start with a fitted tee and keep it basic
- Add a cardigan or a light open knit sweater for texture and color
- Layer on your favorite lightweight jacket like a tweed blazer or fitted anorak. I love this one and this one. Keeping a good shape is key here
- Add a scarf to top off the look. If it's cooler out, opt for one that's chunkier that's sure to keep you warm
A few tips on how to keep your shape from getting lost in all the layers
- Stick to thin fabrics that are body hugging
- If wearing a looser fitting sweater or jacket, add a belt to create a waist
- Play with color and texture when layering. No one wants to see you in all black layers. Have fun with it
- Don't forget the accessories. Long necklaces help elongate your body which is my favorite style tip

All your tips are the same things I do! Scarves are my favorite on days when the weather is in between, wrapped up close to my neck keeps me way warmer than if I just let it hang loosely.
