It's been almost a year since I started CrossFit and I have to say it is the best decision I've made in a long time. It's helped me get fit, make some friends and I now have a new found hobby. I started out wearing my usual workout gear from Target which royally sucked. Let me tell you what it's like doing 100 squats in crappy gym shorts, terrifying. I'm convinced my shorts were going to rip several times. Also, they are SO not flattering. I know the gym is no place to look pretty and cute (boys there know I look like pure SHIT no matter what, I'm convinced it's the short hair in a pony that doesn't flatter me like my old long pony tail used to). I took a cue from my blogging pal Yoga In Heels who runs a successful cute little activewear shop in the heart of Virginia Highlands called Atlanta Activewear. She clearly convinced me in this post that I had to shape up or ship out (my wardrobe that is, because my squat clean PR is pretty nice right now). So off I went to find new pants and gear!
Nike No-Show socks - hands down the best socks I've ever worn to the gym
Ryka Equation shoe - a minimilist running shoe perfect for the CrossFit enthusiast
Alternative Apparel MOVE jacket - their new MOVE yoga line is perfect for taking your workout gear to the grocery store or brunch without looking like a fool
Alternative Apparel MOVE sports bra - I'm a Lululemon sports bra addict, but this one does the trick too and the back detail is super cute
Alternative Apparel Tank - this tank is a favorite, comes in loads of colors, not meant for the gym, but whatever
MPG legging - This is my new obsession, perfectly designed to make a statement in the gym

Very cool post! Thanks for the heads up on the workout apparel. I've needed some new stuff as the box-y yoga pants (from Target) and my boyfriends socks aren't cutting it... At all, lol.
ReplyDeleteI overhauled my crossfit workout gear over the holidays. I still need some long sleeve options because I somehow still manage to freeze.
ReplyDeleteThese Nike socks are all I'll wear. They're like crack, you can never go back to a regular sock again. I highly recommend investing in a few pair.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever shopped at Atlanta Activewear? I was so impressed with their store, such cute stuff and the staff is really helpful. They have LOADS of options.
ReplyDeleteLove all of these! I need some new workout gear to get me motivated
